Annual exam
Annual examinations are essential to your pet’s long-term health and wellbeing. These visits allow for early detection of illness, identification of subtle changes that may indicate developing disease, and ensure that preventive care—such as vaccinations and parasite screening—remains up to date. Skipping yearly exams can delay diagnosis and treatment, potentially impacting your pet’s quality of life.
During your pet’s annual visit, our veterinarians perform a comprehensive physical examination. This includes observing your pet’s posture, gait, and overall alertness. We evaluate body condition, checking for signs such as muscle loss, excessive shedding, or abnormalities in the skin and coat. A thorough exam of the eyes, ears, nose, face, mouth, teeth, and skin is also performed. In addition, we listen carefully to your pet’s heart and lungs to assess their overall health.
For canine patients, a heartworm test will be performed, along with any vaccines that are due or required. Feline patients will receive any necessary or due vaccinations to help keep them protected and healthy.
