About Us

Dr. McAdam received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1997 from the Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine. She began her career by founding The Visiting Vet, Inc., which started with just six patients and grew to over 300 by the end of 2001.

As demand for her services increased, it became clear that expanding into a full-service facility would better serve her growing client base. In 2002, Dr. McAdam purchased Ashdod Animal Clinic in Duxbury, allowing her to provide more comprehensive care to her patients.

With the support of a dedicated, knowledgeable, and skilled team, the practice continued to grow and thrive. In 2017, the clinic relocated to Hanover and was reestablished under a new name: South Shore Animal Services—continuing its commitment to compassionate, high-quality, and affordable veterinary care.

At South Shore Animal Services, our philosophy is simple: provide the highest quality affordable care to every patient while delivering exceptional service to every client. By making this our top priority, we build lasting relationships founded on trust, compassion, and consistency. We are committed to ensuring that both our patients and their owners receive the very best in veterinary care, creating an experience that makes families feel confident, supported, and eager to return to our practice.

We are located in the yellow building! While we work on installing new signage, please keep an eye out for 1076 Washington Street—we share a driveway with two white buildings. At South Shore Animal Services, we are proud to be an affordable veterinary clinic dedicated to providing compassionate, accessible care for your pets. Our services include: wellness & annual exams, vaccinations, spay & neuter procedures, dentals, lump removals, X-rays, and euthanasia services (in-clinic or at home).
